Dublin's Smock Alley Theatre played an important role in Irish drama from the seventeenth century until it was demolished in 1811 to be replaced by the church of SS Michael & John. This book details some forensic architectural archaeology where it was discovered the church was built within the shell the of the old theatre which still exists today.
